What the law asks of landlords
Under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, landlords must have every gas appliance, fitting and flue they provide checked for safety every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer, keep a record of the check and give tenants a copy.
What the check covers
During a gas safety check the engineer inspects each gas appliance and flue. This typically includes:
- Checking appliances are burning correctly and safely.
- Testing gas pressure and tightness of the installation.
- Checking flues and ventilation are clear and working.
- Testing safety devices.
- Recording the results on your certificate.
Simple for landlords and agents
We arrange access with you or your tenant, carry out the inspection and send you the certificate. We can service the boiler on the same visit so both jobs are done at once.
Gas safety checks for homeowners
You do not need to be a landlord to want reassurance. A gas safety check makes sure your home’s gas systems are safe and compliant, which is especially useful when you move into a new home.
Where we work
We provide landlord gas safety certificates from our base in Guiseley across Guiseley, Leeds, Bradford and Ilkley and the rest of West Yorkshire.
